Scripture
But He knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.

Observation
Job feels he has been treated unfairly. If only he could find God, he would argue his case and he knows that he would get a fair hearing. Honest people can reason with the Lord, but He seems to be unable to be found,

Job has been righteous and has obeyed the Lord's commands, The Lord controls his destiny and this fills him with fear.

Application
When God seems distant and we are going through a tunnel of despair, it is hard to see any hope at all.

It takes a tough kind of faith to hold on in those times, That's the place that Job is in here.

In the end of course Job is vindicated, but he never knew the reason for his suffering.

If that is where you are, just hold on to God. He will bring you through the tunnel.

God is faithful and never abandons us.

Prayer
Lord, help me to cling to you when I feel like there is nothing but despair around me. Help me to trust in you and to know that you will stay with me even when I can't see you. Amen.
