Then he told them, “Go to all the world and preach the good news to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptised will be saved, but anyone who refuses to believe will be condemned.”

Observation
The first person to see Jesus was Mary Magdalene. She went to the grieving disciples and told them, but they did not believe her.

Jesus appeared to two believers on the country road and later he appeared to the 11 disciples,

Jesus commissioned them to go into all the world and preach the good news. Miraculous signs would follow the believers, including speaking in tongues, casting out of demons, healing, and much more.

When the Lord had finished talking to the believers, he was taken to heaven to sit at God’s right hand.

Application
The message of the gospel is simple. If we believe in Jesus and are baptised, we will be saved. If we refuse to believe the good news, we will be condemned.

This is not a legalistic or transactional arrangement. It is all about entering into relationship with Jesus.

To enter into eternal life with God, we must believe the Good News. There is no other way to be saved than through the name of Jesus.

Praise the Lord for His gift of salvation, given so freely to all who will believe!

Lord, what do you want to say to me about this passage?

Keith, the spreading of the Good News is of the highest importance in the church. There are dangerous false teachers and false pastors who say that it is more important to do social justice. Both are important, but how will people believe if they do not hear the Good News?

As a pastor, it is your role to equip the people, to train them in works of righteousness and in evangelism.

The gospel must go to all people so that my glory is seen in all the earth.
